The Meteorological Department has issued a warning predicting a rise in temperatures by 2 to 3 degrees Celsius across the state today and tomorrow.
The warning highlights the risk of severe health issues such as heatstroke, sunburn, and dehydration due to the extreme heat. In response to the rising temperatures in Kerala, the State Disaster Management Authority has issued specific precautionary guidelines for the public.
Precautionary Measures:
- Avoid prolonged direct exposure to sunlight between 11 AM and 3 PM.
- Drink plenty of clean water, even if you don’t feel thirsty.
- Avoid dehydrating drinks such as alcohol, coffee, tea, and carbonated beverages during the day.
- Wear loose, light-colored cotton clothes.
- Event organizers must ensure the availability of drinking water and shaded areas for participants.
- Public events should be minimized between 11 AM and 3 PM.
The authorities urge the public to take the necessary precautions to prevent heat-related health problems.
