Kalpatta: Due to the continuing heavy rains, a holiday has been announced for educational institutions in Wayanad district tomorrow. The collector informed that the holiday will be applicable to all educational institutions including professional colleges, anganwadis and tuition centers in the district.
The holiday is not applicable for pre-scheduled exams and PSC exams. The collector also informed that the holiday will not apply to model residential and Navodaya schools
The Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state till Sunday. Orange alert has been announced in Kozhikode, Wayanad and Kasaragod districts on Friday in view of heavy rains. Yellow alert has been announced in Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad and Malappuram districts.
Yellow alert was declared in Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Saturday and Kannur and Kasaragod districts on Sunday. The Central Meteorological Department has informed that you should not go fishing in the Kerala-Karnataka-Lakshadweep coasts. The warning states that there is a possibility of strong winds and bad weather in the Kerala-Lakshadweep coasts with a speed of 35 to 45 km per hour and on some occasions up to 55 km per hour.
