The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecasted intensified rainfall in Kerala in the coming days due to potential low-pressure development in the Bay of Bengal. A cyclonic circulation is likely to form over the southern Andaman Sea by Thursday, which could develop into a low-pressure area by November 23 and subsequently intensify into a depression or deep depression. It is expected to move towards the Tamil Nadu and Sri Lanka coasts.
Currently, Kerala is experiencing weak rainfall, but meteorologists predict that rain activity could become more pronounced after November 26. Light rain is expected in isolated areas of Pathanamthitta and Idukki over the next three hours. Additionally, isolated thunderstorms and rain are likely across the state until tomorrow, according to the IMD.
