Heavy Rainfall Expected in the State Today, Yellow Alert Issued for 8 Districts

Thiruvananthapuram: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has issued a warning of isolated heavy rainfall in the state today. As part of this, a Yellow Alert has been declared in eight districts: Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam, Pathanamthitta, Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, and Malappuram. The forecast predicts rainfall ranging from 64.5 mm to 115.5 mm in the next 24 hours.

There is also a possibility of rain in areas like Sannidhanam, Pamba, and Nilakkal, where the sky is expected to be generally cloudy. After noon, moderate to heavy rainfall (ranging from 1 to 3 cm per hour) accompanied by thunderstorms is likely in these areas. The IMD has also indicated that isolated thunderstorms and rain are expected in Kerala until November 27.
