A house in Anjoor, Kunnamkulam, was set on fire last night following tensions between two groups related to the Anjoor church festival. The incident occurred at a rented quarters where Ajith, the occupant, resides.
According to preliminary findings by the police, the attack is believed to be a continuation of the earlier clash. The house was set on fire while the residents were away attending the festival. The perpetrators reportedly stacked flammable materials like dried coconut husks and paper near the house’s entrance before igniting them.
Local residents noticed flames engulfing the building and promptly informed the Kunnamkulam fire service, who arrived and extinguished the fire.
Further investigations are underway to identify and apprehend the culprits involved in the incident.
