Amid public dissatisfaction following his entry into Congress, Sandeep Warrier shared the stage with senior leader K Muraleedharan at a public meeting in Sreekrishnapuram. Muraleedharan welcomed Sandeep warmly, draping a shawl over him, and described the occasion as “doubly sweet.”
Sandeep Warrier, in his address, expressed admiration for Muraleedharan, stating, “Malayalis never tire of elephants, the sea, Mohanlal, or K Muraleedharan. These four hold a special place in their hearts. When I heard Muraleedharan would be present, I insisted on meeting him.”
Sandeep also recalled his time in BJP, saying, “Even then, I had openly stated that my favorite Chief Minister is K Karunakaran. Muraleedharan is like a brother to me.”
He acknowledged having criticized Muraleedharan in the past under the “ideology of a bygone era,” but affirmed his commitment to Congress now. “I am now a Congressman and will stand with Muraleettan and the party. I don’t intend to circle Mararji Bhavan with a broom to reform them. Even if I try, they won’t change,” he quipped, taking a jibe at his former party.
The meeting highlighted a shift in political dynamics, with Sandeep Warrier reaffirming his allegiance to Congress and expressing camaraderie with senior leaders.
