Suspect Salim arrested in Kanjangad Patannakkad case of abducting and torturing a ten-year-old girl. The accused was arrested from Andhra Pradesh. CCTV footage from Kanjangad Pillerupadi was crucial in the investigation. A 10-year-old girl who was sleeping at home was beaten and raped last Wednesday morning.
The investigation team searched for the accused in places like Kotak, Mandya, Iswaramangalam and various areas of Kasaragod district but could not find him. The defendant has a habit of occasionally engaging in crime and then leading a life of good character. The crime is riding a bike. Earlier, there are cases against him of snatching the necklace. He is also accused in a POCSO case for taking a minor girl on a bike and taking her to the forest.
He was in remand for three months. To get more information about the young man, who did not have many friends, the police had recorded the statements of those who had been with him earlier in the jail. The young man, who worked in hotels in Bangalore and Goa, had been checked by the police considering the possibility of entering there. Meanwhile, he called his wife on the phone. With this, the police found him and took him into custody.
After sexually assaulting the child, the accused left the child in the field and left. The accused abducted the child in the morning when the grandfather went to the barn to milk the cow. Then the child was abandoned in the Njanikadav field area one kilometer away from the house. The boy said that he was abducted by a masked Malayalam speaker.
