Alappuzha: Two arrested in case of brutal beating of Dalit woman in Poochkal. Shailesh, the brother of Shaiju, a local CPM worker, was arrested. The arrest of the accused was recorded this morning.
The incident related to the case took place on the last 7th. A 19-year-old woman living at Maniathrikal Junction in Thaikattussery was brutally beaten up. A complaint was lodged at Poochakkal station stating that Shaiju had beaten up the two younger brothers of the woman. After this, Shaiju and his brother beat up the woman in the middle of the road.
Three days after the incident, the police registered a case against the accused and arrested them. There was a lot of criticism after not filing a case against the accused. Following this, the police arrested two people this morning.
