Job Scam Exposed: Lawyer Arrested for Smuggling Youth Abroad with False Promises

Palakkad: Palakkad cyber police arrested an agent who was a lawyer in the case of cheating young people by offering them high-paying jobs abroad. Sreejith (31) of Errattuveet, Kollangode, Uttara, was arrested by the DCRB on the instructions of the district police chief. DYSP K.C. Vinu, Cybercrime Police Inspector P.D. Anoopmon and others were arrested.

He was arrested on the complaint that he had cheated the youth by taking a huge commission from them by offering them jobs in multinational companies abroad with attractive salaries. Sreejith took three lakh rupees from a youth from Chandranagar, Palakkad and offered him an executive job in a company in Laos.

The young man who arrived there was forced to work in cyber fraud centers controlled by Chinese nationals. The youth had complained that every day more and more people were cyber-frauded with the aim of getting more money and when they refused, they faced severe beatings. There is also a complaint that he was locked in the room without being given food.

Unbeknownst to the operator, the young man would inform the family and return to the country after paying the money through the agent. Subsequently, a complaint was lodged with the police.

In the investigation of the police, it was found that two people were scammed by Sreejith. Investigators said they were investigating whether there were more victims.

Sreejith was running a firm called Vengunad La Firm in Kollangode town. The police arrested him from here. ASI M. Manesh, Cyber ​​Cell employees H. Hirosh, K. Ullaskumar, Sharanya, Nias and Premkumar were also in the investigation team. The accused was remanded.
