Kannur: Protests are intensifying over the death of former Kannur ADM K. Naveen Babu. In response, the BJP has called for a hartal in the Kannur Corporation limits tomorrow, demanding a murder case be filed against District Panchayat President P P Divya.
The BJP hartal will be observed on wednesday (16-10-2024) from 6 AM to 6 PM. Essential services, vehicles, and hotels have been exempted from the hartal. BJP state president K. Surendran had earlier demanded an investigation into P.P. Divya’s alleged involvement in the ADM’s death.
Surendran accused Divya of deliberately attending the farewell event uninvited and publicly humiliating an officer who didn’t comply with her. He demanded Divya resign from her position and face legal action, including charges of abetment to suicide and homicide.
