Kerala cabinet decides to increase plus one seats in Malappuram

Malappuram: Government has decided to increase Plus One seats in Malappuram. In the cabinet meeting, it was decided to add 30 percent seats in government schools and 20 percent in aided schools. The cabinet meeting also decided that if there is a need to increase it proportionately after the admission of Plus One, the matter can be considered later.

Last year, Plus One seat was increased in Malappuram. Still there was criticism that there was a shortage of seats. The Cabinet meeting also decided that after the admission of Plus One, if there is a need to increase it proportionately, the matter will be considered later. Plus one seats were increased in Malappuram last year as well. Still there was a complaint that there was a shortage of seats. There are 1065 batches in 248 schools in Malappuram.

Last year, apart from Malappuram, in 7 districts namely Thiruvananthapuram, Palakkad, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Kannur and Kasargod, marginal seats were increased by 30 percent in government higher secondary schools, 20 percent in aided higher secondary schools. An additional 10 per cent increase in marginal seats for aided higher secondary schools was also sanctioned last year.
