Tripunithura Terminal, the last station of Kochi Metro’s first phase, will be inagurated today. Prime Minister Narendra Modi will flag off the metro online from Kolkata at 10 am. Minister P Rajeev said that the completion of the first phase of Kochi Metro is the realization of a big dream and once the Tripunithura station becomes a reality, it will be convenient and helpful for long-distance commuters.
Metro authorities informed that the ceremony of handing over Kochi Metro Phase 1-B to the nation will begin from 9:45 am. People’s representatives and various dignitaries will participate in the function at the station. The passengers of the first train from Tripunithura station are differently-abled children. After the departure of the train with them, the service for the public will start.
