LDF complains of impersonation, suspension of two election officials

Kannur: Action taken on LDF’s complaint of fraudulent voting in the house vote. The polling officer and BLO were suspended. The action is based on the complaint that the voter was impersonated at booth number 70 in Kannur. The LDF filed a complaint with the Election Commission alleging that they had voted under fake names. A woman named K Kamalakshi was eligible to vote. They were applying for the vote at home.

But when the polling officers and other people arrived on the 15th, Geetha, the BLO, took them to the house of another woman named V Kamalakshi. So 82-year-old V Kamalakshi voted instead of K Kamalakshi. The LDF filed a complaint against this. The Assistant Collector has been deputed for further investigation into the incident.

At the same time, the district administration has decided to tighten measures to prevent fraudulent voting after the incident of home vote registration failure in Kalyashery. Polling officials have been instructed to ensure the privacy of citizens while recording their vote at home.
