A lookout notice has been issued against actor Koottickal Jayachandran following allegations of sexually assaulting his four-year-old niece, a close relative. The Kerala High Court had dismissed his anticipatory bail plea last week, leading the police to issue the notice. This came after the Kozhikode Sessions Court rejected his bail application, prompting him to approach the High Court.
The incident reportedly took place last year and was investigated by the Kasaba Police in Kozhikode. The child’s parents are separated, and the alleged abuse occurred while the child was staying with her mother. The case surfaced when the child visited her father’s family following his death and disclosed the abuse to her grandmother.
The child later reiterated her statements to a psychologist and a magistrate. A medical examination revealed injuries indicative of sexual abuse, supporting the allegations. The case was registered based on a complaint filed by the child’s mother.
