Perinthalmanna: Following the IPL player auction, Vignesh Puthur, hailing from Perinthalmanna in Malappuram, is set to join Mumbai Indians. On the second day of the IPL mega auction held in Jeddah, Vignesh was picked by Mumbai Indians for a base price of ₹30 lakh.
Like every cricketer, Vignesh’s dream has always been to wear the Indian jersey, and now he is one step closer to realizing that dream. His surprise entry into Mumbai Indians came in the final hours of the IPL auction. At 23, Vignesh can hardly believe the news, even though his teammates have already informed him.
In the early days, his local cricket coach, Vijayan, taught him the fundamentals of cricket. Before the auction, Vignesh was called for trials by Mumbai Indians. After a stellar performance, the team decided to bring him on board.
