Kairali TV Chairman Mammootty will soon leave CPM affiliation. The CPM has used Mammootty for its purposes for more than a quarter of a century but has never treated him with respect. He was often denied the recognition he deserved at the national level because of his CPM connections. Many who were fellow travelers of CPM in literature, cinema and art fields are estranged from the party. Most people are afraid to appear at party venues.
MLAs Manjalamkuzhi Ali and Alphonse Kannanthanam ended their relationship with CPM because they could not bear the torture of the party leaders and ranks. Ali, who joined the Muslim League, later became a state minister and Alphonse, who joined the BJP, became a Union minister.
KT Jalil is sure to follow in Anwar’s footsteps. Jalil has addressed all the issues raised by Anwar. All those who have joined CPM from Congress are in death trap. Some have been given pieces of bread but all of them have lost their political existence.
