Kasaragod: BJP state president K Surendran acquitted in Manjeshwaram election bribery case. The order was announced by the Kasargod District Sessions Court.
The case was that Sundaran, who was a BSP candidate in the Manjeswaram constituency in the 2021 assembly elections, was given a bribe of two and a half lakh rupees and a mobile phone to withdraw from the contest. In this incident, the court accepted the plea of release of 6 accused including Surendran. Kasaragod District Sessions Court accepted the argument that the case was not maintainable. All the accused, including K Surendran, were present in the court today as the court directed them to appear in person.
BJP state president K Surendran was the first accused in the case. BJP district secretary K Manikanda Ray, Suresh Naik and three others were accused. Yuva Morcha former state treasurer Sunil Naik was the fourth accused. Former BJP district president K Balakrishna Shetty and Lokesh Nonda were the fifth and sixth accused. The court accepted the release petition of all 6 accused.
