Maoist leader C.P. Moiteen arrested, caught while traveling by bus

Alappuzha: The remaining link of Kabani Dal and Maoist leader C.P. Moiteen is in the custody of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS). He was arrested from Alappuzha KSRC bus stand. Information was received that he had reached Angamali the previous day and then shifted to another place. The search was then extended to Alappuzha and Ernakulam.

On July 17, the police received information that four Maoists, including CP Moiteen, Manoj and Soman, had left the forest. After this, the anti-terror squad intensified the search. On July 18, Manoj from Ernakulam and Soman from Shornur were arrested. One crossed into Tamil Nadu.

C.P. The investigation team concluded that Moiteen was somewhere in Ernakulam area. The team was based in Kambamala in Wayanad, a forest region that shares the border with Kannur district and Karnataka.
