Meanwhile, the Central Meteorological Department has warned that there is a possibility of heavy rain in the state today and tomorrow. This is due to the presence of low pressure area from Kerala coast to south Gujarat coast and low pressure formed over West Bengal and Jharkhand.
According to the Central Meteorological Department, there is a possibility of heavy rain at isolated places in Thiruvananthapuram, Kollam and Alappuzha districts and strong winds with a speed of up to 40 km per hour.
Orange Alert has been issued in Thiruvananthapuram, Pathanamthitta, Alappuzha, Kottayam, Idukki, Ernakulam, Malappuram, Kozhikode and Kasaragod districts today due to heavy rain. Yellow alert has also been announced in Kollam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Wayanad and Kannur districts.
