Masappadi case involving Veena Vijayan, ED ready to interrogate CMRL officials

Ernakulam: The Enforcement Directorate is preparing to interrogate CMRL officials in the Masada case involving the Chief Minister’s daughter. He has been instructed to appear for questioning at the office in Kochi tomorrow.

Those in charge of finance have been given notice to appear for questioning. ED sources indicate that the officials will have to be interrogated continuously in the coming days.

The Income Tax Settlement Board found that Pinarayi Vijayan’s daughter Veena Vijayan and her software firm Exalogic had paid Rs 1 crore 72 lakhs for non-existent services from the mining company CMRL. Veena Vijayan, Exalogic Company, CMRL and Public Sector Undertaking KSIDC are currently under investigation.

Statements were taken from officials including the Income Tax Department in the case. 1.75 crore was paid to Exalogic and Veena Vijayan for the service, the statement said. Officials were unable to explain what the service was. The ED is investigating the payment for which services.
