Kozhikode: A private bus hit a schoolgirl who was crossing the road on the zebra line in Cheruvannur. Fatima Rina, a native of Kolathara, was hit by a bus on the zebra line in front of Cheruvannur school. The girl miraculously survived.
The incident took place on the evening of the 7th. Fatima Rina, a native of Kolathara, was hit by a bus. The student was hit by a bus on the zebra line in front of Cheruvannur school. After getting off the bus, Fatima crossed the road to go home.
While walking on the zebra line to the other side of the road, looking both ways, the bus which was going from Kozhikode to Kalikao reached over speed and hit it. Fatima fell under the bus under the impact of the thunder. Fatima got herself up from under the bus while those present at the scene were trembling.
Fatima was immediately admitted to a nearby private hospital by the locals. There was body pain but no serious injuries. But, despite all this happening, neither the bus owner nor the staff looked back, Fatima said. Fatima’s parents demanded action against the bus driver who drove the bus at excessive speed.
MVD D Sarath responded that the CCTV footage of the incident has been received and the driver and bus owner have been asked to appear today. He said that strong action will be taken, including suspension of the driver’s license and bus permit. MVD said that the student’s statement will be recorded today.
