Thiruvananthapuram: In a surprising move following a hearing called by Chief Secretary Sharada Muraleedharan, IAS officer N. Prasanth has demanded that both audio and video of the hearing be recorded and live-streamed. This request comes in the wake of instructions from Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan that led to the hearing being scheduled.
Currently under suspension over allegations of defaming a senior official and a colleague through social media, Prasanth has been asked to appear before the Chief Secretary on April 16 at 4:30 PM. In a letter addressed to the Chief Secretary, he claimed that his demands were made in the public interest. Prasanth had previously written to the Chief Secretary, requesting an opportunity to present his side.
