Kannur: Kannur City Police Commissioner Ajith Kumar stated that P.P. Divya has been taken into custody for allegedly inciting the suicide of ADPM Naveen Babu. Divya was under surveillance.
In response to questions about the delay in arresting Divya, the commissioner explained that the police were going through other procedural steps. He mentioned that the case was under the court’s consideration.
Following the court’s rejection of Divya’s anticipatory bail plea, the police began a search operation, which led to Divya’s detention, the commissioner said. Divya was subsequently brought to the Kannur City Crime Branch office.
When reporters repeatedly asked where the police had taken Divya into custody, the commissioner was not ready to respond. When pressed further, he remarked that he did not understand the relevance of the question, responding that it was an “irrelevant question” when asked if she was in Kannur at the time.
