The NCP state leadership meeting will be held in Kochi today. Mani C Kappan is adamant that he will not give up on the Pala seat. Along with Kappan, there is also a section of the NCPI. The meeting comes amid indications that the CPM may hand over the Pala seat from the NCP to the Jose K. Mani faction in the coming assembly elections.
AK Shashindran, NCP’s representative in the cabinet, said it was unwise to take a hard line on Pala and distance himself from the CPM. Therefore, the position of the state leadership is that even such a discussion is not needed now. They are of the view that if the CPM gives the Pala seat to Jose K. Mani, they will leave the Front. In that case, we have to contest in Pala with the support of the UDF.
The party leadership meeting comes as the move strengthens a section of the NCP. The NCP national leadership is also of the view that the Pala seat should not be handed over. The CPM has not yet demanded that the Pala seat be given to Jose K. Mani.
Meanwhile, Jose K. Mani’s LDF Regarding access CPM. The State Secretariat will discuss today. The CPM wants to take the Jose faction to the forefront Position. Bilateral talks with the CPI on the issue will also be held today.
