A resident of Kumbalam, Shaji, has been arrested following a complaint by actress Honey Rose. The Ernakulam Central Police registered cases against 30 individuals accused of posting inappropriate comments under a social media post.
The complaint came after a public statement made by the actress on social media yesterday, which triggered cyberattacks and derogatory comments from supporters of an accused individual. Honey Rose subsequently filed a complaint at the Ernakulam Central Police Station late at night.
The police quickly identified those involved using their social media profiles, collecting their locations and phone numbers. With assistance from the cyber cell, the police located and arrested Shaji.
The arrested individual was brought to the Central Police Station, and cases have been registered under non-bailable sections of the IT Act and various provisions of the Indian Penal Code.
