The High Court has dismissed the petition filed by Manjusha, wife of ADM Naveen Babu, seeking a CBI investigation into his death. The court ruled that the special investigation team could continue its probe. Justice Kauser Edappagath delivered the verdict.
Manjusha expressed dissatisfaction with the judgment and stated that she would proceed with an appeal.
The petition had alleged inefficiency in the police investigation into the case, in which CPM leader and former district panchayat president P.P. Divya is the accused. The family had raised suspicions that Naveen Babu was murdered and hanged. However, the government argued that the investigation was proceeding correctly and that the post-mortem report confirmed suicide. The CBI had stated that it would take up the investigation if directed by the court.
