Riyadh: A family travelling from Jeddah to visit Medina met with an accident. A Malappuram native died in the accident near Badr before reaching Medina. The deceased has been identified as Shahma Sherin (30) of Othukkungal Illikot.
Four people in the vehicle were injured. The injured Shahma Sherin’s brother-in-law, Mohammed Rashad, and her daughter Ayesha Roohi were admitted to King Fahd Hospital in Medina, while her sister Najia Sherin and Shahma’s daughter Jaza Fatima were admitted to Yambu General Hospital. Jaza Fatima’s injuries were minor and she has been discharged from the hospital.
The accident occurred at 9.30 am on Thursday morning when two families of six were travelling from Jeddah to Medina. Their car collided with a trailer lorry on the Medina road, 40 km from Badr.
