Sharon Murder Case, Sentencing Today

Thiruvananthapuram: The sentencing of the accused found guilty in the Sharon Raj murder case will be delivered today. The Neyyattinkara Additional Sessions Court found Greeshma, the prime accused, and Nirmala Kumaran Nair, her uncle and the third accused, guilty of the crime. It was determined that Greeshma murdered Sharon, her boyfriend, by mixing poison in a herbal concoction to eliminate him.

In addition to murder, the court stated that Greeshma was guilty of various other offenses, including abduction and destruction of evidence. The court also found that her uncle, Nirmala Kumaran Nair, was involved in destroying evidence. The prosecution has demanded the death penalty for Greeshma.

However, Greeshma has requested the court to grant her the maximum leniency in sentencing. Greeshma’s mother, the second accused in the case, was acquitted due to lack of evidence. On October 14, 2022, Greeshma invited Sharon to her house and gave him a herbal concoction laced with poison. He passed away on October 25, 2022.
