Kochi: In the name of ‘Operation Transparency’, vigilance conducted lightning checks in the village offices of the state. The inspection is being conducted in 88 village offices selected on the basis of confidential information that the e-district portal system is being subverted.
E-District Portal is a system for making certificates available online at village offices. It is alleged that in many village offices the applications are put under the category of under re-verification/under extra verification/returned and postponed without taking any action. Lightning test is based on this.
Lightning inspection is conducted simultaneously in 13 village offices in Thiruvananthapuram district, seven each in Kollam, Kottayam, Ernakulam, Palakkad and Thrissur, six each in Idukki, Kozhikode, Malappuram and Kannur districts, five village offices in Pathanamthitta, four each in Alappuzha and Wayanad districts and three village offices in Kasargod.
