Kollam: Excise officers conducted a drug bust in Kallumtazham, Kollam. A youth was arrested with drug stamps and hybrid cannabis during the search. Avinash Sasi (27 years old), a native of Mangad, Kollam, was arrested. Hybrid cannabis of the varieties White Rants, Blackberry, Strong Apple, Copper Kush, Cookie Gelato, Michigan and Rainbow Charlotte, which are found in foreign countries, was recovered from the accused.
Based on a tip-off, a search operation found ganja and LSD stamps hidden in plastic containers. In addition to 20 grams of hybrid ganja, 89.2 milligrams of LSD stamps were seized. The excise team arrested the accused with the help of the Kollam Excise Cyber Cell. He is being questioned. The excise department said that it is investigating where the accused got the narcotics from.
The inspection, led by Excise Inspector Dileep C.P. of the Kollam Excise Enforcement & Anti-Narcotics Special Squad, was also attended by Assistant Excise Inspector (Grade) Nirmalan Thambi, Preventive Officer Prasad Kumar, Civil Excise Officers Ajith.B.S., Anish.M.R., Julian Cruz, Jojo, Thanseer Aziz, Arunlal, and female Civil Excise Officer Varsha Vivek.
