Padmaja Venugopal, a senior Congress leader and daughter of the late former Chief Minister K Karunakaran, is tipped to join the BJP. Padmaja said that the possibility is not ruled out. Padmaja, who is currently one of the general secretaries of the state Congress, said that the change will happen after this election.
Padmaja added that there are serious problems with the Congress. As a Congress candidate, he had unsuccessfully contested for the Lok Sabha from Mukundapuram in 2004 and for the Legislative Assembly from Thrissur in 2021.
