Every Malayalee is shocked by the tragedy in Mundakai, Wayanad. There is a flow of help from different parts of Kerala. Nedumpulli Tharananellur Satheesan Namboothiripad, chairman of Payammal Devaswom and temple administrator, said that the people affected by the landslides will be given help from the proceeds of Nalambala pilgrimage. Pay Rs 3,04,480 received through Nalambala Pilgrimage on Tuesday. Nedumpulli Tharananellur Satheesan Namboothiripad said that it is the duty of the local people to help in times of danger.
Devaswom secretary Ramesh Elinjikotil, members Pradeep Namboothiripad, Padmanabhan Namboothiripad, Babu Elinjikotil, treasurer Manoj Thumbarathi, Kshetra Seva Samiti secretary Satish Charthamkudam and treasurer Prabhakaran Kopulli said that they are happy if this will be an inspiration to others. Payammal is the Shatrughan temple of Nalambala pilgrimage. Devotees from Kannur, Kozhikode, Wayanad, Malappuram and Thrissur districts mostly come for the pilgrimage.
At the same time, the rescue operation in Wayanad’s Mundakai landslide is progressing for the third day. Rescuers recovered a dead body from the village road. The body was found among the trees. More rescuers have reached the village road after concluding that more bodies are likely to be there. The search is done by moving the trees using machines.
