Kochi: A police case has been filed against director B Unnikrishnan based on a complaint by producer and actress Sandra Thomas. In her complaint, Sandra alleges that B Unnikrishnan took disciplinary action against her for giving a statement in front of the Hema committee, publicly humiliated her, and even removed her from the film. The case was registered by the Ernakulam Central Police as per court instructions.
Sandra also claims in her complaint that B Unnikrishnan instructed others not to cooperate with her, which led to an obstruction of her professional freedom.
After the Hema Committee report, Sandra harshly criticized the producers’ association. In a separate complaint, she had earlier accused members of the Producers Association of sexual harassment during a meeting related to resolving a dispute in the film industry. As a result, police had previously filed a case against the association officials.
Following this, Sandra was expelled from the Film Producers’ Association for tarnishing the organization’s reputation. However, Sandra approached the court against the expulsion, and the court stayed the decision.
