Protests are being raised against police officers entering the footpath of the Pampa Ganapathy temple wearing shoes. The footage of this has led to protests, including among devotees. Pilgrims reach the Ganapathy temple barefoot and then climb the hill. Meanwhile, the police officers entered the footpath of the temple wearing shoes.
The Sabarimala Police Coordinator announced that an investigation has been launched into the incident following the protests. The officers entered the temple premises wearing shoes the previous day. Devotees are also upset that the police officers deployed in Sabarimala are repeatedly disrespecting the rituals.
Earlier, there was a controversy over the police posing for a group photo from the 18th step of the Sannidhanam. The Devaswom bench of the High Court had also sought an explanation in this regard. Following this, the police entered the temple premises wearing shoes.
