Police registered a case against 25 people who protested the attack of wild buffalo

Kottayam: Police have registered a case against 25 people who protested after the death of two people in Kanamala due to a buffalo attack. A case has been filed against the natives under sections such as blocking the means of transport and forming a group with the aim of carrying out an attack.

The accused have been directed to appear before the Kanjirapally Judicial First Class Magistrate by Friday. Police have issued summons against 16 people involved in the case.

On May 19, 2023, two people died in a wild buffalo attack. The deceased have been identified as Chacko (65) who was in the veranda of the house and Thomas Anthony (65), a rubber tapping worker. Following the incident, many people protested and blocked the road.
