Prakash Javadekar: BJP Has Not Asked Anyone to Resign, K Surendran Will Not Step Down

New Delhi: In the wake of the BJP’s defeat in the Palakkad by-election, calls for the resignation of Kerala BJP State President K Surendran have been dismissed by the party’s national leadership. BJP Kerala in-charge Prakash Javadekar clarified on social media that no one has been asked to resign, and the party remains confident in resolving the current issues.

Javadekar accused the LDF and UDF of spreading baseless rumors to destabilize the BJP’s momentum in the state. Despite the setback in Palakkad, Javadekar highlighted the BJP’s commendable performance in the by-election and its significant victory in Maharashtra, emphasizing the party’s growing presence and influence.

“The BJP is here to bring a change in Kerala politics. We are confident of winning Palakkad and many other Assembly constituencies in 2026. People are looking up to us for an alternative,” Javadekar stated. He also noted that 1.5 million voters have voluntarily joined the BJP in Kerala through the party’s membership drive by providing missed calls and personal details.

Javadekar reaffirmed the party’s commitment to expanding its base through its ongoing membership campaign, urging citizens to join by giving a missed call to 8800002024. He dismissed the opposition’s criticisms as mere propaganda, reiterating the BJP’s determination to strengthen its foothold in the state.
