Prithvi Shaw smashes fastest fifty of IPL 2021, hits 6 fours in one over

Delhi Capitals opening batsman Prithvi Shaw on Thursday smashed the fastest fifty of IPL 2021. The youngster brought up his half-century off just 18 balls. In his innings, Shaw smashed 9 fours and a six. He overtook Punjab Kings’ allrounder Deepak Hooda who had achieved the feat in just 20 balls.

Shaw also became the joint second-fastest half-century scorer for DC. Shaw also shared a partnership of fifty runs with Shikhar Dhawan to provide a top start for the Delhi Capitals. In the match, Shaw went on to score 82 runs at a strike rate of 200. He struck 11 fours and 3 sixes. Earlier in the innings, Shaw joined a unique list as he hit six fours in the first over of his team’s run chase and became the second batsman after teammate Ajinkya Rahane to achieve this feat in the IPL. He also struck back to back boundaries of all the deliveries bowled by Shivam Mavi in the opening over against KKR. With his knock of 82, Prithvi Shaw also has entered top 3 of ORANGE Cap Leaderboard. Shaw now has 269 runs @ strike rate of 165.03 and is currently in a 3rd position.
