Locals protest by stopping forest department vehicle in Pulpalli. The roof of the vehicle was crushed and the tire was deflated. A wreath was also placed on the vehicle. Protesters also came against the forest department employees.
The attacked jeep belongs to Pulpally Forest Station. It was the same forest ranger team that had been with Paul since he was brought to the hospital. They had accompanied the ambulance from Kozhikode to receive the dead body. The protestors placed a wreath on top of the jeep. Meanwhile, a tiger attacked and killed cattle in Wayanad. Locals brought its body to the protest site and tied it on top of the forest department’s vehicle. A very serious protest is going on in Wayanad.
Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan has suggested to convene a high-level meeting led by ministers to discuss issues related to wildlife attacks. A meeting will be held in Wayanad on the morning of 20th of this month under the leadership of the Ministers of Revenue, Forest and Local Self-Government. All the people’s representatives including the local people’s representatives of Wayanad district and all the officials including high officials will participate in the meeting.
