Seven students have been suspended in connection with a ragging incident at Karyavattom Government College. The action was taken based on findings that confirmed their involvement in ragging. The suspended students are Velu, Prince, Ananthan, Parthan, Alan, Shravan, and Salman.
The complaint was filed by first-year student Bins Jose at the Karyavattom police station. The Anti-Ragging Committee found that he was a victim of ragging. The complaint was against seven third-year undergraduate students, alleging that they forcibly removed his shirt and assaulted him.
According to the complaint, senior students took Bins to a unit room, where they physically assaulted him. His shirt was torn, he was forced to kneel, and he was beaten on his back and cheeks. When he asked for water, they spat on the floor before giving him bottled water. Following this, Bins reported the incident to both the principal and the police.
