Prashanth Sivan clarified that he never said Rahul Mankootathil’s leg would be amputated. He challenged Rahul to prove that such a statement was made by him. According to Prashanth, his comment that “Rahul won’t be allowed to step foot in Palakkad” was twisted and misrepresented. He alleged that Rahul and the Congress are making false accusations and misleading the public in an attempt to sabotage development.
He added that he is unaware of any BJP workers raising provocative slogans against Rahul, and emphasized that such behavior is not acceptable and does not align with his stance.
At the same time, Prashanth asserted that there is nothing illegal about naming the Skill Development Centre in the Palakkad municipality after RSS leader Hedgewar. He reiterated that he did not notice any BJP workers shouting provocative slogans against Rahul, and maintained that such actions are not acceptable.
The latest threat emerged during a BJP march to the MLA’s office in protest against Rahul Mankootathil’s objection to naming the Skill Development Centre after the RSS leader. The Congress had previously blocked the foundation stone-laying ceremony of the center. BJP claimed that the MLA was opposing the Skill Development Centre and insulting differently-abled students, which led to today’s march to the MLA’s office.
Threats against Rahul Mankootathil continued during the march. Previously too, BJP leaders had made threatening remarks against the MLA. The BJP’s warning was that if RSS leaders were insulted, the MLA would not be allowed to set foot in Palakkad.
Rahul Mankootathil responded that the issue of naming the Skill Development Centre after an RSS leader would be dealt with legally, democratically, and politically. Following this, Youth Congress conducted a march to the BJP district office.
