The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has forecast a chance of rain across all districts in the state today. Light to moderate rainfall is expected. Rainfall is also likely across the state over the next three days.
Meanwhile, the IMD has reported that isolated light showers are likely in the districts of Idukki, Ernakulam, Thrissur, and Kasaragod within the next three hours.
As part of the “Kallakkadal” (swell surge) phenomenon, the National Centre for Ocean Information Services (INCOIS) has warned of possible sea incursions. In Thiruvananthapuram district, from Kappil to Poovar, high waves ranging from 0.9 to 1.0 meters are expected between 5:30 AM and 2:30 PM on 29/04/2025 (tomorrow). Similarly, along the Kanyakumari coast, waves between 1.1 and 1.2 meters are expected from 11:30 PM tonight (28/04/2025) to 2:30 PM tomorrow (29/04/2025).
At the same time, several districts in Kerala are likely to experience high temperatures today. The IMD reports that temperatures may rise up to 38°C in Palakkad district, up to 37°C in Kozhikode and Kannur districts, and up to 36°C in Kollam, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Malappuram, and Kasaragod districts.
