India has strongly criticized Pakistan following the terror attack in Pahalgam, calling it a “rogue state” at the United Nations. The criticism was raised during the inaugural meeting of the UN’s “Victims of Terrorism Support Network,” which aims to address issues including the rehabilitation of terror victims.
India’s Permanent Representative, Yojna Patel, stated that Pakistan continues to nurture and shelter terrorism. She pointed out that the recent comments made by Pakistan’s Defence Minister Khawaja Asif which effectively admitted their role clearly exposed Pakistan’s long-standing efforts to destabilize the world through terrorism. Patel termed Asif’s statement as an “open confession.”
Yojna Patel also expressed gratitude to the United Nations and the international community for their support and solidarity with India following the Pahalgam terror attack. She thanked the world leaders and governments who extended strong support and unity in response to the incident, describing it as clear proof of the global community’s uncompromising stand against terrorism.
She added that India, having been a victim of cross-border terrorism for decades, deeply understands the long-term impacts such acts have on victims, their families, and communities. Patel stressed the need to identify, prosecute, and hold accountable the perpetrators, organizers, financiers, and sponsors of terrorism.
“Terrorism, regardless of its purpose, location, or timing, can never be justified,” she stated, emphasizing that terrorism in all its forms and manifestations must be unequivocally condemned.
