Veteran South Indian actress Pushpalatha (87) passed away at her residence in T. Nagar, Chennai. She had been undergoing treatment for a prolonged illness.
Pushpalatha acted in over a hundred films across Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada industries, including lead roles. She made her cinematic debut in 1958 with the Tamil film Sengottai Singam and entered the Malayalam industry in 1969 with Nerssi, directed by Thikkurissi Sukumaran Nair.
She shared the screen with legendary actors like M.G. Ramachandran (MGR), Sivaji Ganesan, Rajinikanth, and Kamal Haasan. Her last film appearance was in Poovaasam (1999), directed by Sribharati. Pushpalatha was married to actor and producer A.V.M. Rajan.
