Kerala Kalamandalam invited RLV Ramakrishnan for a dance performance following the racial abuse by the artist known as Satyabhama. RLV Ramakrishnan accepted the invitation. Mohiniyattam will be performed today at 5 pm at Kalamandalam Koothambalam. RLV Ramakrishnan said that this is the first time he is getting such an opportunity. Ramakrishnan was also a research student at Kalamandalam.
Kalamandalam Satyabhama and Kalamandalam Satyabhama said that beauty is required to perform Mohiniyattam and RLV Ramakrishna is crow’s black. This racial slur, which was made during an interview with a YouTube channel, later gained a lot of attention.
As the matter became controversial, eminent persons including ministers came forward in support of Ramakrishnan. Then the Human Rights Commission filed a case against Sathyabhama and the Kerala Kalamandalam itself rejected Sathyabhama’s words and declared solidarity with Ramakrishna.
