Bengaluru: Crucial satellite footage of the landslide in Shirur is out. ISRO handed over satellite footage of the landslide to the Navy. The rescue mission has reached a critical stage after getting the footage of the place where the lorry driven by Arjun was parked.
Now the rescue mission is progressing by spotting the satellite image. The district administration, NDRF, SDRF, Navy and Army are jointly carrying out the rescue operation. The search is being carried out in a landslide area on the banks of the river, 30 meters away from the place where the lorry was parked.
Excavators have been brought to the spot to search for Arjun. Heavy rain is a challenge for the rescue mission. The administration is also planning to use an intelligent object detection system to locate Arjun. For this, the Karnataka government sought the help of M Indrabal, a native of Palakkad, who was a Major General of the Army. It is reported that M Indrabal said that he will use this technology if he receives an official notification.
