Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said in the budget presentation that India will become a global tourism hub. Nirmala Sitharaman said that tourism is part of India’s culture.
Corridor similar to Kashi Vishwanath temple corridor will be realized in Vishnupath Temple in Gaya and Mahabodhi Temple in Bodh Gaya. The Finance Minister also announced a comprehensive development plan for Rajgir and Nalanda.
It was announced in the budget that Nalanda will be made a global tourism center and Nalanda University will be developed. A handful of projects have been announced in the budget for the tourism sector.
The Finance Minister said that Odisha is rich in temples, handicrafts, natural beauty, wildlife sanctuaries and beaches a and the Center will support Odisha to make progress in the tourism sector.
