Thiruvananthapuram: Senior CPM leader EP Jayarajan has left the party. EP Jayarajan will not attend today’s CPM Secretariat meeting. Yechury will also not attend the party’s commemoration in Thiruvananthapuram in the evening. This is not the first time that the EP has turned its back on the party program after stepping down as the Left Front convenor.
Earlier, EP Jayarajan did not participate in the Chadayan Govindan Day celebrations in Kannur. CPM district committee announced that EP along with PB member A Vijayaraghavan will participate in the floral tribute ceremony of former state secretary Chadayan Govindan. But the EP did not attend the ceremony. But MV Jayarajan responded that he was not satisfied and was undergoing treatment. The EP also did not attend the state secretariat meeting held after Javadekar was transferred in the name of the meeting.
It was P. Jayarajan who ignited the resort controversy against EP Jayarajan amid the chaos in Kannur politics. It was in 2022 that serious allegations came before the party, including that there were misguided interventions by the EP in the guise of Vaidekam Ayurveda Resort and illegal acquisition of property. The leadership’s instruction to P. Jayarajan was to write down the objection raised in the state committee.
P Jayarajan asked what action was taken on his complaint after MV Govindan informed the state committee about the removal of the EP from the post of Left Front convener. MV Govindan replied that it has not been considered. Moreover, the members of the state committee who asked the reason for the expulsion of the EP have not yet received a definite answer.
