Thiruvananthapuram: A charge sheet will soon be filed in the sexual assault case filed by a Bengali actress against director Ranjith. The investigation was conducted by a special investigation team led by AIG G. Pookuzhalie. The charge sheet will be submitted in the Ernakulam First Class Judicial Magistrate Court. The case against Ranjith was filed for insulting womanhood.
The Bengali actress revealed the abuse she faced following the release of the Hema Committee report. The case was registered in August. The actress has claimed that during an audition for the movie Paleri Manikyam in 2009, Ranjith attempted sexual assault at a flat in Kaloor, Kochi. Following this, Ranjith had to resign from his position at the Kerala State Chalachitra Academy. The actress provided her testimony in court under a confidential procedure.
