Thiruvananthapuram: ABVP activist injured in attack by SFI activists at Kariyavattam campus. Adityan, an ABVP worker, was beaten up. Fearing defeat in tomorrow’s elections, the SFI unleashed violence. ABVP sent a letter to the VC and the registrar asking to postpone tomorrow’s election to another date.
Aditya was beaten up by SFI workers inside the hostel. A group led by SFI unit secretary Ajinth Ajay and unit president Abhijith KK carried out the violence at Kali Poon when Adityan was contesting the ABVP elections. Flags and banners erected by ABVP were destroyed.
It was after 15 years that the ABVP set up a campus unit and contested for the post of chairman. The registrar of Kerala University is responsible for the election. ABVP also pointed out that the registrar is not ready to take action against those who have unleashed violence despite filing a complaint.
