Kochi: The third Vande Bharat Express service has started in the state. The service of Special Vandebharat Express is on the Ernakulam Bengaluru route. Vandebharat service started from Ernakulam South Railway Station at 12:50 PM. The Vandebharat service was started without any formal ceremony due to the mourning period following the Wayanad landslide disaster.
Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vandebharat will operate three days a week. On Wednesdays, Fridays and Sundays, the train departs from Ernakulam at 12:50 PM and reaches Bengaluru Cantonment at 10 PM. On Thursdays, Saturdays and Mondays, Vandebharat departs Bengaluru Cantonment at 5:30 am and reaches Ernakulam South at 2:20 pm.
Vandebharat Express will cover a distance of 620 km in nine hours and 10 minutes. The ticket price is Rs 1465 inclusive of food in chair car and Rs 2945 in executive chair car. Ernakulam-Bengaluru Vandebharat Express has stops at Thrissur, Palakkad, Pothannoor, Erode and Salem.
